Zombie

Directed by Lucio Fulci

After making his name in the giallo subgenre, Lucio Fulci breathed new life into his career with this ultra-gory 1979 masterpiece about a group of unfortunate Americans who foolishly set sail for a remote Caribbean island that's crawling with worm-filled zombies. Thanks to its extraordinarily gruesome FX and that still-unbelievable zombie vs. shark-scene, ZOMBIE sparked a zombie-gore trend in Italy, and landed itself a permanent spot on the list of the greatest zombie movies in the history of the subgenre. Essential viewing for all Shudder-ers!

Lucio Fulci’s ultra-gory masterpiece is a must-see classic of zombie cinema.

Cast: Tisa Farrow, Ian McCulloh, Richard Johnson, Olga Karlatos

I don't know what I expected. It was decent, with the music and the FX. It was lacking in the creativity, in my opinion. Everything looked pretty good, but it also looked so basic. It wasn't entirely boring, although I did lose my attention a couple times. Overall, I would recommend this movie to someone else.

Sometimes, Fulci makes a movie I like and sometimes he bores the hell out of me. This bored the hell out of me. I really went into this expecting it to be Cannibal Holocaust but with zombies and gore but it's boring and not as all over the place gory as I expected it to be. There are violent kills from the zombies but overall, not a Fulci film I enjoy. So yeah.

Much better to watch with friends so you can laugh and oh and aww at all the crazy effects. Zombie/Shark fistfight is the best scene.
