weird asf. one of the random shudder picks that actually stuck around in my head. v unnerving. i feel like it maybe starts to lose its way 2/3 through. ***sort of spoiler ahead, dont read just in case*** i was still all in until the ending. I feel like they didnt know how to end it and just did that. 5/5 for me with a better ending.

This is a pretty odd one, and I would have liked some sort of resolution, but I suppose that's sort of the point. Ignore any review that thinks it should be a wizard of oz inspired horror. . . that's tangential at best. Interesting note: Robert Eggers, director of The VVitch and Nosferatu (2024) was the costume designer.

This is a movie I revisit on occasion, could have been great, the question is whether or not the holes are better when our minds fill in the blanks I guess.

Kind of a fun movie. It's a cool idea but could have been executed better. I wanted there to be more Wizard of Oz imagery, rather them seemingly in an endless forest. The ending was incredibly disappointing but I still had fun watching.
