This is a movie I revisit on occasion, could have been great, the question is whether or not the holes are better when our minds fill in the blanks I guess.
Kind of a fun movie. It's a cool idea but could have been executed better. I wanted there to be more Wizard of Oz imagery, rather them seemingly in an endless forest. The ending was incredibly disappointing but I still had fun watching.
This was worth the watch. The sound is agitating, which is kind of the point, and the characters are all over the place, which also seems to be the point, but the premise is unique and it's not badly made. It's a bit Groundhog Day like- the circular plot is tiring enough in the middle where you might want to watch it over more than one sitting. It won't change your life but is a fun way to spend 100 minutes.
3/5
It's like The Ritual, but with a smattering of Wizard of Oz references that they're too afraid to do anything fun with. The "descent into madness" vibe is cool and is decently accomplished, but there's not much to write home about. Huge potential to make a crazy, Lovecraftian, Wizard of Oz movie, but they play it straight the whole time and it ends up being kind of a slog.
