WNUF Halloween Special

WNUF Halloween Special

Directed by Chris LaMartina

In 1987, a TV news team tried to contact spirits in a haunted house. But something went wrong. Three decades later, the recording of this spooky special has finally surfaced and viewers can now see what really went on that fateful night - complete with commercials! Think GRINDHOUSE meets PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and you’ll know what to expect from this hilarious parody of found footage horror. Anyone who watched ‘80s TV is sure to laugh at the scarily accurate fake ads for video rental stores (remember those?), psychic hotlines and Satanic panic books. Watch if you dare...

I enjoyed this one, it had a pretty accurate feel to a 1980s TV news special broadcast. The commercials were fun although there were a bit too many overall, could have used a little more of the main story. The main story is a slow burn but it does get pretty interesting and has a cool ending. I think they could have included a few more spooks or jump scares along the way, but overall well done for a indie movie.

Good on the film makers to make the film they wanted to make. Clearly a lot of work went into this effort. I can't see why but it must mean something to the director et al so good on them.

It was a back yard production with fake commercials. I guess the Halloween theme kept me interested. Reporter & former talk show host Geraldo Rivera used to do these type of Halloween exploration tv specials back in the late 80's. An interview with Charles Manson in prison was an especially chilly one from back then. Halloween Special is a decent one.

Very nostalgic feeling but that's pretty much it. Not good overall - commercials were overbearing after a point and I think it's because the core plot moved too slowly while having very few critical moments. Neat presentation but overall a bust.
