It has a very strong start with establishing character motivation. Seo Yea-ji the female lead has been in several kdramas, and always plays a strong woman protag. The kind that always fights back, so I basically knew going in we would get the same from her. The concept reminded me of the 00's The Ring, and it had some very eerie visuals. I'm a pretty seasoned horror watcher and the parts in her apartment I was squinting my eyes because I knew it would be insanely creepy. Sadly, the story is a bit confusing and drops the ball a bit at the end. Not the best Korean horror, but a very good watch nonetheless.
It had some good gory moments in the second half, although none of the jumpscares were successful, in my opinion. The main problem with this movie was the plot; it felt very scattered, lacked a solid conclusion, and Soon-mi had no obvious motive. It had no depth to the story. It was too vague, and nothing really glued well together, if that makes sense. The acting of the female protagonist was solid, but the other actors were mediocre. Overall, this didn’t meet my expectations.
Honestly, this was a pretty great watch. The camera work, acting, make-up, was all just spot-on. I only took off a star because the ending did fall a *little* flat for my taste, but all-in-all, VERY good watch.
it was ok? it had some scary moments but most of the time i was really bored.
eh. . it was ok. I loved the idea of it, just felt it was executed a bit badly. the few kill scenes and when we fully saw the main ghost were probably the best part. I like the idea of the ending but I felt this was a bit lack luster and boring in some areas. sorry. :(
