Wake Wood

Wake Wood

Directed by David Keating

A grieving couple are given the chance to resurrect their daughter in this Irish horror film starring Aidan Gillen of “Game of Thrones” fame. After Alice’s accidental death, her parents move to a quaint village to make a fresh start. But when a local offers to perform a ceremony that will temporarily bring their daughter back, they can’t resist. But when Alice returns, she isn’t quite herself, of course. One of the best offerings from the new Hammer Films, this supernatural scarefest should please fans of THE WICKER MAN, DON’T LOOK NOW and VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED.

A grieving couple are given an opportunity to resurrect their daughter for three days.

Cast: Timothy Spall, Aiden Gillen, Eva Birthistle

I loved this movie! It hooked me in at the beginning and didn't let me go until the credits at the end. I have heard people compare it to "Pet Semetary" and I just don't see it. To me, these are completely different movies-IMO. No spoilers from me but the ending was so good...

A well done little film with Pet Semetary vibes. The lore was pretty interesting (and gory), and the twist at the end was actually good.

With better editing, and a little more footage to fill in some gaps, could have been 5/5.

I like it. This is getting a lot of bad reviews I don’t agree with, but I really like Aidan Gillen and Timothy Spall. This movie is a pretty classic “dead child dumb parents” trope fest. Yeah, it’s old, the effects aren’t the best, and it’s kind of like Pet Semetary. If I’m being honest it’s a solid four skull movie at best. But I think young Aidan Gillen is hot so I’m giving it a five. 😂

I liked it a lot and I really loved the ending. However, I’m rather easy to please
