really morbid and interesting. uses reality to terrify you.
Threads is a heartbreaking and devastating story and it is executed extremely well (the documentary style helped to give it a more scarier undertone) but I was just bored with how slow burning it was and how the flow of the film's runtime wasn't quicker. But that's just me. Not the film's fault. However, it does affect the film's rating in my eyes so yeah. 3 skulls. I just hope none of us or those after us have to ever experience this firsthand. So yeah.
The first half is a dated British tv show and the second half is dated British tv Documentary. You can tell this was made for TV in the way it doesn't hold up. Its just monotonous and somehow tame for the subject matter, which i was really sad about because the nuclear threat is an ever more present one. This Movie has been Razed by the sands of time. Im sure it would have been more impactful for me if i had watched it in 1984.
Definitely not a good pick for movie night with your friends. However, if you're interested in a very bleak but realistic depiction of nuclear war, this is it. Truly thought provoking movie.
Pair this with Tod Solondz Happiness for great double feature full of joy.
