A rare gem documentary, entirely made up of interviews of every member of the GWAR family documenting every detail from inception to today. Complete transparency, no bullshit, filled with anecdotes and unseen home footage and snippets from documentaries and interviews. One of the best documentaries I’ve seen, warts and all, honest and told first hand by the people that shaped the band. Captures the spirit of GWAR perfectly.
As a fan of GWAR, this documentary is a *must* see. Really helps you see all the dedication to a craft that has gone into the band and all that they have done. I am grateful to have been able to help with Dierks' treatments (I still have my receipt saved in my e-mail) and to have gotten to see him perform with the boys in my hometown where he even underwent one of his treatments in the same cancer research center that I had mine in seven years prior alongside Hunter Jackson, Brad Roberts, Casey Orr, and Mike Bishop. And glad to say that I've got Brad, Dierks, and Brockie's signature on a sleeve for Diarrhea of a Madman. Much love to these guys; may GWAR reign forever!
Really interesting look at the history of GWAR. Certainly worth a watch for a fan of the band
No band documentary really shows the making of the craft better than this one! As a huge GWAR fan this is everything I want in viewing the band and also in band documentaries in general.
only rarely extends beyond the standard archive footage, talking heads and slideshow standards of popular documentary filmmaking but more than gets by on genuine interest and love for the subject
