I’m currently 1:03:51 into this movie as I write this. The retro aesthetic is fine. . but the rest of the movie is just awful. The acting, the writing, the murder scenes. And as an added bonus all the characters are particularly unlikable! I’d skip, but now I’m committed and have to finish this turd.
Not bad you meow. Kept me entertained for what it was. Not a great movie, but, ok to check out for fun. I'll have to check out the sequel meow.
Best thing about it was the aesthetic and graphics to make it feel like an actual film from the 70s, it was impressively done and captured that vibe perfectly. Comedy though is subjective and unfortunately the jokes didn't really land for me, I wanted to like it more than I did but sadly I was only mildly amused instead of a genuine laugh at something. Still loved the look of it though and its worth it for that technical accomplishment alone as it's done better than some others that tried the same thing.
Loved this comedy take on Halloween and college football, just makes you feel it’s October
A fun movie that you might have to have seen 70s drek (e. g. The Town That Dreaded Sundown, The Legend of Boggy Creek) to like. It intentionally recreates the weird pacing of scenes and cuts, stilted dialogue, oddball details, and so on in a way that makes them funny and endearing. The cast is also game, with Kate Edmonds playing a slinky stoner in awesome pajamas who can't stop dancing, Dre Bravo as a stoner who can't stop giggling at everything, and Allison Shrum as the consummate Nice Kid Who Goes To A Party. Maybe more of a 3. 5 skull kind of movie, but I found it more likeable than a straight 3.
