When Elizabeth takes up with a new man, she winds up welcoming a vicious predator into her home: John Bunting, the moral compass of a self-appointed neighborhood watch who orders his crew to carry out acts of sadistic, homophobic vigilantism on those he considers deviants, and in the process takes Elizabeth's son Jamie under his wing. Great acting and directing
Great acting and direction make this pretty harrowing.
Absolutely fantastic movie that will stay with you, but my god is it bleak
I only stick it out because I made a commitment to finishing it completely but it's all in all brutal and crazy to see some themes I don't agree with. Ive still seen worse movies to watch on a shock value level but I think my main problem with this movie is it over loads the viewer with boring slow parts and dull characters then tries to draw you in with the gore and killing. I will say it grossed me out and took me to another place where I just wanted it to finish so i guess good thriller in that sense.
Boring and there are too many “oh I don’t wanna kill but my father figure wants me to” tropes. Also no need to kill animals. Stick to the humans lol
