A tale of surviving extreme adversity in a cruel and dark period of history. The protagonist was compelling and sympathetic, and the antagonists were horrifying. The tension built up to a roller-coaster of action and chaos. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Women come on really. Just no
Well done for a slow burn of a horror movie and interesting take on the subject.
It's an ok movie but it's not horror by any stretch.
Reading the negative posts here, I thought there were reactionary comments. Then I watched it. I've *never* disparaged acting quality on Shudder comments, but this has the feel of a telenovela. Stilted line delivery, bizarre camera shots lingering on ridiculous images, and distracting costume/wardrobe choices. It's not well made and doesn't offer anything to make it worth your time. The premise is just fine. Truly bizarre to see how great everybody looks while living in squalor during the plague. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Definitely pulled me out of the dire situation this story ought to convey. Maybe you'll like it anyway? Hats off to you if you sit through the 110 minutes!
