Reading the negative posts here, I thought there were reactionary comments. Then I watched it. I've *never* disparaged acting quality on Shudder comments, but this has the feel of a telenovela. Stilted line delivery, bizarre camera shots lingering on ridiculous images, and distracting costume/wardrobe choices. It's not well made and doesn't offer anything to make it worth your time. The premise is just fine. Truly bizarre to see how great everybody looks while living in squalor during the plague. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Definitely pulled me out of the dire situation this story ought to convey. Maybe you'll like it anyway? Hats off to you if you sit through the 110 minutes!

didn't watch this atrocity on Shudder, but it was a reason i subscribed as i spent £3 on the dvd & it tipped me over the edge🤨 Neil Marshall has made some half-decent films, but in my opinion never topped his debut Dog Soldiers,& call me mad but i don't think his Hellboy reboot was as bad as everyone else seemed to🤔 however, while making it he had the misfortune to meet the 'actress' Charlotte Kirk (now also 'writer' & 'producer') so unfortunately for the foreseeable future we're going to get this kind of low-grade tosh. google it,it's a fascinating tale of how a man's creativity crashes when the blood drains from his brain to his dick. Please give us the ability to post a 'no skull' review🤣

An interesting take on an otherwise overtold story, not bad.

a great story if a woman's inner strength and quick wit used to survive

Rather a disappointing outing. There are some things that are praiseworthy such as the sets and Sean Pertweem. Unfortunately there are a few too many cliches of the witch in medieval times here, and I could not help laughing at some of the more ridiculous moments as they reminded me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail's witch scenes. The horror relied on cheap jump scares and loud noises rather than anything more meaningful and disturbing. Aside from Pertwee, I felt the acting was unsatisfying, and some of the worst performances belong in a parody film. The story has meanders along slowly without doing much of interest, but things get much busier in the last 15 minutes which provide some unintentional belly laughs. Overall a disappointing experience that is quickly forgotten, which is a shame because with a better script and vision this could have been a good film.
