The Pact
Directed by Nicholas McCarthy
Strange, supernatural things occur after a woman's abusive mother dies. First, there's the disappearance of Annie's sister, which forces her return to her childhood home. Then one night, a violent encounter with an angry entity leads Annie to begin investigating who or what has taken up residence in her house. Director Nicholas McCarthy's skillfully-constructed Sundance chiller stunned and terrified festival audiences with its horrifying plot twist, leading to word-of-mouth that turned THE PACT into a must-see movie for horror hounds everywhere.

I swear half my reviews don’t save. Skip the first hour and you’ve got yourself a legitimately creepy movie. Watch the first hour and you get Casper Van Dien aka Mr. Starship Trooper, flattest California boy actor I’ve ever done seen. Whenever an invisible ghost throws someone across the room in a movie, yell “Wheeeeee!”
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR AGES I couldn’t remember the name of it! Thank you Shudder! So one of the things that was striking when this movie first came out was the use of technology, in that, like, it’s actually there. A lot of movies around this time didn’t know how to keep up with how everyday people had tech in their lives —-so you’d be in a remote cabin, cell phones get smashed, etc. No shade to those films either, but this is one of the first films in my memory that had normal people using normal tech (video chat, digital cameras, etc), and scary shit still could happen. I think about this movie a lot and am glad to have it around again :)
Very underwhelming.
Very well done it definitely impressed me it's just kind of predictable but all horror is good horror in its own way.
ngl; would buy that house
