wicked. brutal.
The best things it has going for it are the cast, the quick pacing and the courage of its convictions are far as being unrelentingly bleak, dark and gritty. I agree with people who say the subplot with Jamie and Mia didn't really add anything, but, again, pacing. I guess they needed a b-plot to go to occasionally when the action was getting a little too intense at the Stone house.
Four skulls up in here, pack it into the BROADS ROCK category of film and go watch Superhost next
From the reviews I was expecting a horror gem. This movie is far from it. It's not a bad watch but it appears to be super overhyped. Just an average violent thriller, with not much of a story or any kind of direction. There's a pointless subplot with the friend who goes to the school dance, and it adds literally zero to the story. Also, the ending was pretty anti-climactic. Worth a watch if there's noting else I guess.
Maybe a 3. 5 but can’t justify 4 skulls. Hat tip for the runtime though.
