The Last Winter
Directed by Larry Fessenden
An oil company drilling in the Arctic triggers something very scary during an expedition in director Larry Fessenden's eco-horror film, which stars Ron Perlman (HELLBOY) and Connie Britton (AMERICAN HORROR STORY). Sent to evaluate the impact of drilling in the Arctic, James (James Le Gros) clashes with the crew's chief (Perlman), who wants to get the job done. Strange events begin to plague the crew, and they are soon cut off from the outside world. James and the crew feel the full force of Mother Nature's wrath, and before long there is no visible escape.

It was aight
Good performances by an exceedingly strong cast, but it takes a very long time to build up a head of steam. Perlman humanises what could have been a very one-dimensional unsympathetic character. Fessenden manages to make it not look cheap, in spite of what was surely a very low budget. Many will find the ending unsatisfying but I was kinda fine with it.
it didn't really keep my interest until the end I was thinking something similar to the thing but it's a good effort maybe i just didn't get it.
It has a Lovecraftian atmosphere, with the madness and incomprehensibility that I enjoy, and the acting is truly convincing, but unfortunately, the film ends on a somewhat confusing note. But I recommend it for its atmosphere.
Not too shabby. It’s a typical film with Ron Perlman in it. So if you’ve seen a few of his films, then you know, the tone that this film is gonna have. I wouldn’t say make this a movie night for everybody but not a bad movie to kinda just have there in the background or just kind of just playing while you do something.
