The House of the Devil
Directed by Ti West
A stranger lures a babysitter to a house with an unusually large sum of money. But when she arrives, Samantha doesn’t find any kids. Just a large and very creepy house, that may not be as empty as it seems. Indie horror director Ti West (THE INNKEEPERS) made his mark with this terrifying ‘80s throwback, featuring cult horror legends like Dee Wallace (THE HOWLING), Mary Woronov (NIGHT OF THE COMET), plus Greta Gerwig - before she hit it big. You’ll never bop around listening to headphones in an empty house again after watching what happens to Samantha. Contains violence and gore.

If your not a fan of slow burn, this is not for you. The slow building of intensity, the sudden burst of violence makes this one of my favorite new school horror movies. Turn down the lights and let the tension build and you wont regret it.
How can people not love this scary ass movie! Total effing throwback retro-ass spectacular! Fucking Gen Z…OR Gen AA or whatevs…
Do you love crushing boredom? Do you feel you've been entertained too much lately?. . . well this is made for you my friend.
This is a master piece of modern horror
More irritating than scary. Anyone born in 1980 should NOT try to create a movie set in 1983. Nobody said “chill out”, the going rate for babysitting was $1 an hour and only lumberjacks had full beards. Local TV channel pictures were not crystal clear and slim cut jeans did not exist. This is only a few of the annoying inconsistencies. The lack of scares, a plot or character development are the ringing theme of this movie. Should’ve gone with my gut and skipped it.
