The House by the Cemetery
Directed by Lucio Fulci
Gruesome supernatural slayings begin after a family moves into their new house in the final entry in Lucio Fulci’s “Gates of Hell” trilogy. The Boyle’s new house hides a horrific history of murder and torment, including a recent familicide committed by Norman Boyle’s former colleague. But as Norman tries to uncover the mystery behind the murders, he uncovers an otherworldly secret that may be closer than he thinks. Though it’s tonally less apocalyptic than CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD and THE BEYOND, the creeping suspense and gory FX should satisfy any Fulci fan. Contains violence and gore.

This movie is a slog. Some of the scares are decent but the movie sags outside of those scenes. I loved the music tho.
Not great. Not too bad.
If you've never seen any Fulci movies, this is a terrible one to start with, watch The Beyond instead. If you HAVE seen Fulci, you know exactly what you're getting into, so enjoy!
Probably one of my favorite horror movies. The “something in the basement” genre always gets me, and I grew up with this movie. Probably watch it about once a year. Very Italian and unintentionally funny. Has decent suspense and a wonderful payoff at the end. Really needed a sequel.
I got 20 minutes in and checked out. Those long stares did the trick.
