100% better than the BS that perforates the genre these days. Is it great, highly watchable, without boring sections like sooo many horror movies today.
It was alright. Worth a watch.
It's pretty obvious after watching that Tobe Hooper just wanted to make a horror movie set in a funhouse. That's pretty much all there is to it as pretty much everything else here is generic slasher fare. Not much is built up and what is built up doesn't make much sense. It does take its time which would've been great if there were better payoffs, but unfortunately it amounts to practically nothing. While I do enjoy the funhouse visuals which are pretty creative and, dare I say, "fun", outside of that there isn't much else to say this is worth watching this from beginning to end.
Not bad...but not Tobe's best work.
I love vintage horror but the slow build was too much for me and i turned it off after the first kill. Not my cup of tea, I guess.
