The Deadly Spawn
Directed by Douglas McKeown
A group of campers stumbles upon the remnants of a meteorite and discovers that some fanged, worm-like creatures have hitched a ride to Earth. After enjoying a “camper” appetizer, the alien spawn take refuge in the basement of an isolated house and prepare for the main course!. With the residents in the house now becoming the entrees of an intergalactic monster buffet, some teenagers, led by a small boy, decide to take this matter into their own hands and rid the world of these creatures. Contains violence and gore.
Alien creatures invade a small town and four teenagers, along with a young boy, attempt to stop them.

Great and fun film with a crazy ending!
Good!
It’s essentially a talented student film- one location, actors seen like many are possibly even family, reminiscent of Spielberg’s pre-fame juvenalia. Only, (at least in the better shots) you’d think they’d gotten a real monster- it’s crazy how good the props and their movement are. The rest, while objectively weak, deserves credit for creativity, better depictions of science than any blockbuster I can recall, and characters who are distinct while being both mundane and realistic. Sadly, the creator’s talents are really only exceptional in effects.
LOVED IT
very fun! Home Alone + The Thing, with a dash of the Aliens franchise - it also reminded me of The Abomination (1987) a little bit. . . cool practical monster effects! Kid who's obsessed with classical horror and makes ingenious traps? Check. Oblivious dolts bumbling into dark and quiet places, amidst lurking creatures? Check. Spontaneous gore? Check. All the bonkers elements of '80s horror/sci-fi flicks that made them great, especially budget '80s horror/sci-fi! Give this one a whirl!
