Skull: The Mask
Directed by Armando Fonseca, Kapel Furman
In this splatter-filled supernatural slasher, a Pre-Columbian artifact contains the spirit of Anhangá, the executioner of the god Tahawantinsupay. Whoever wears the mask is possessed by Anhangá and compelled to commit sacrifices to resurrect his god. It’s up to a museum assistant and a policewoman to stop the slaughter before the ritual is completed. A throwback treat for fans of ‘80s slashers and gory practical effects. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL.
A mask possesses those who wear it to kill in this splatter-filled supernatural slasher.

Garbage
Best enjoyed as a B-movie,an enthusiastic one which endeavours to entertain beyond it's budget. It's shortcomings are balanced nicely by regular moments of what-the-fuckery & interesting imagery. Felt to me like a rediscovered early Alex DeLa Iglesia filmschool project,& that's no bad thing.
Two main issues plaguing this film from being a good movie: Script is left out during intense scenes quite often leaving the scenes feeling very empty and awkward. There are hardly any practical effects. It feels as though they knew they were going to look bad, so they covered them up with bad filters to distort the screen and weird cuts to only capture before the effect would have happened and then after.
Definitely a slow burner. The practical effects are pretty neat when they come up. But it’s a pretty messy story all in all. But if you just want something with some gore it’s worth a watch.
It's a slow burn for awhile after the initial opening prologue, but the carnage is well worth the wait; the kills in this movie are visceral and extra splatter-y, and the gore is more than plentiful. The practical effects here are fantastic, with some kills kinda reminding me of the likes of Victor Crowley and Chromeskull. Some seriously impressive stuff! Even with the few gripes I have with the story and information given, the practical effects and the killer's design easily make up for it. Skull is a brutal, menacing slasher rather reminiscent of Jason Voorhees in demeanor and stature, but his mask and the way he brutalizes his victims in the name of his evil god, alongside the way his body becomes more grotesque and blood-drenched the more he kills and absorbs their organs, really sets him apart. Overall, despite the somewhat loaded and occasionally messy story, the pace is decent after the first 20 or so minutes, and the cheesy, gory fun caused by Skull after he starts his killing spree far outweighs the majority of downsides this movie has. It's not perfect, but it's a bloody good time for old school slasher fans and gore hounds. Easy 4 out of 5! I hope they make a sequel.
