Sissy
Directed by Kane Senes, Hannah Barlow
Invited away on a hen's weekend, Sissy is stuck in a remote cabin with her high school bully...and a taste for revenge. Cecilia (SISSY) and Emma were tween-age BFFs who were going to grow old together and never let anything come between them. That is, until Emma’s new friend Alex did just that. When Cecilia became the target of Alex’s bullying, it forced Cecilia and Emma apart. Twelve years later, Cecilia is a successful influencer living the dream... until she runs into Emma for the first time in over a decade and her world is turned upside down. Darkly comedic and unnervingly savage, SISSY is a satirical look at millennial self-victimisation in the social media age. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL

I really enjoyed this slasher movie from an unconventional standpoint… but also really appreciated the attention to detail in the sets. For example- - the blink in the hair dye poster in the pharmacy…the fact that Cecilia had a postcard-sized print in her bedroom of the large mantle painting in the summer house, the Asian masks in the summer house bathroom… etc. These details helped to give the film that little extra flair & contributed to foreshadowing & a sense of dystopia (maybe mirroring Cecilia’s frame of mind?)
Really cool movie with a magnetic “protagonist”. Classic campy slasher with some thoughtful subtext. We need more Sissy! Officially requesting sequels or a tv series!
Meh
pretty okay can be better .
Definitely worth watching but the constant music is a bit off putting
