A couple of interesting ideas are counterbalanced by a few important scenes that are lazy rip-offs of better films.
Not good.
Not a bad movie to sit back and enjoy, I’ve seen worse exorcism movies, but this one will keep you on your seat.
I was in the mood for horror schlock, and this scratched that itch. Its a fun movie of you don't take it too seriously. Would highly recommend watching with friends and/or after a few beers.
“Context, pleeease!” 😅 That’s the vibe of Dead Mail, a synth-soaked ’80s thriller where a cryptic note from a kidnapped synth technician lands in a post office, sparking a race to uncover the truth. The Good: Unique Premise: The “dead mail” angle a real postal practice adds fresh tension. The kidnapper’s obsession with building synths? Weirdly compelling . Style Overload: Grainy visuals, brown-toned ’80s realism, and eerie music create a hypnotic vibe. No neon here just gritty, lived-in atmosphere . Jasper Shines: The dead-letter investigator steals scenes with dry wit. “If the sock fits…” 🧦 . The Flaws: Pacing Hiccups: The slow-burn drags in the second act. Switching perspectives mid-sleuthing dilutes the urgency . Underdeveloped Characters: Some intriguing side players (looking at you, basement-dwelling synth guy) needed more depth . Verdict: Flawed but fun. Perfect for fans of offbeat horror-thrillers. It’s a B-movie with heart, even if the plot occasionally gets lost.
