Rabid
Directed by David Cronenberg
In David Cronenberg’s must-see cult favorite, a woman named Rose (porn star Marilyn Chambers) develops a thirst for blood after receiving experimental surgery. When Rose wakes up, she finds a stinger under her armpit which she uses to feed off victims, who later turn rabid and attack others. RABID is body horror as only Cronenberg can do, with sex and death inextricably linked thanks to Rose’s phallic parasite. Chambers gamely made the leap to “respectable” films, and die-hard disco fans may recognize her bizarro single “Benihana” playing over one particularly nasty attack. Contains strong language, violence and gore.

So creepy but I loved it!
Ah, Cronenberg. It's hard for me to articulate how much this man has made my life better since I discovered him 20+ years ago as a teenager. From the moment I first saw Naked Lunch (hugely underrated) I knew this man had something in common with me creatively. He just makes the type of things that I think are the coolest. Well made horror with a big focus on very detailed gory practical effects and a certain psychological tilt all his own (what other mind would have made Dead Ringers?). The practical effects in Rabid are limited but still wondrous things that give the movie so much character. Those are the shots you remember. This is EARLY Cronenberg and it still rips. Definitely in my top 10 zombie-style movies. I love the green foam in the mouths of the rabid. Rabid is a sort of sleazy late 70's movie but made by someone who is way, way more skilled than the people who were making those movies at the time. You get this with John Carpenter too. They're just levels above others in the genre with some of these. Watch it. It's badass. (Also does anyone else feel like Scarlett Johanssons character in Under The Skin was inspired by Marilyn Chambers character in this? The way they both go around exploiting pervy men to "feed" is very similar)
A must see classic.
it was good but a little confusing how she got to drinking blood like that , did the doctor did when he did surgery or did she had to before and it woke up when she was in a coma .
I understand why its a beloved cult classic!
