Directed by Adam MacDonald
A brilliant, brooding and flat-out frightening supernatural chiller from the producers of modern horror classics The Witch and The Void, featuring The Walking Dead’s Laurie Holden. After her father dies, teenager Leah is forced, by her unstable mother, to leave her friends behind and move to a house in the woods. Feeling isolated and hopeless, Leah turns to Black Magic to release her anger. She naively performs an occult ritual found in a book on her bedroom shelf to invoke the spirit of a witch to kill her mother. Terrified by strange occurrences, and stricken by guilt, Leah desperately tries to reverse the spell, but soon realizes she has awoken something in the woods... and nothing can prepare her for the terror that has been unleashed.

I actually really enjoyed this. I wasn’t expecting a monster, but the atmosphere and the building tension definitely got me. I guess you could say Demons work in mysterious ways…
Pretty creepy but I wish there was a creepier ending with the demon. It feels unfinished. Unless…are they trying to imply that it was all in her head? But even then, a creepier ending would have been better.
Simple, scary, realistic.
It was okay. Not scary, somewhat interesting story. I'm probably not the target audience.
solid first and second half, absolutely no payoff could have been so much better, but honestly waste of 88 minutes for a horribly paced melodramatic goth teen occult nonsense, solid if you arent into horror, cool monster design with absolutely no utilization, wasted potential
