A little confused by some of the hate in the comments. Simple story sure, but very tense, beautifully shot, and well acted. I think it's just trying to be a suspenseful 90s throwback and it does that well. Personally I like that it's not trying to be overly cerebral like most horror films today.

this movie is probably actually a 4 out of 5 but i want to push back on the negative reviews. is it genius, flawless, a masterpiece? no. but it is suspenseful and spooky and a perfectly entertaining watch, even though i agree the ending was a bit overdone. if you like home invasion, you'll like this. if you're looking for gore, watch something else

They've done home invasion thrillers with pretty much every demographic possible, seems like, but I don't recall one with a pregnant woman in active labor. Cool concept, and the two leads were good. So good, though, that I wished we learned more. It's hinted that there's a supernatural element to the villain, but we never get an explanation. There's a line in that scene that to me clearly telegraphed what the heroine was going to do, which would've been cool, but that doesn't happen either. We also never learn our heroine's full backstory. If the action and thrills were better that would be forgivable, but they're sub par except for one immediate post-birth scene, which was gruesome and effective. Sometimes, less is more. Here, less is just less.

Tension, acting, and visuals were great. Story barebones Kills are entirely offscreen Supernatural elements interesting but nothing got done with them.
