Oddly enough, though it gets labeled as capitalizing on Jaws, it’s not a bad film.

Man, this is a stupid film. Part of the problem is killer whiles are lovable. They had the same with Cujo, but they made the St. Bernard so dirty and bloody, he wasn't very huggable. My brother saw this when it came out (I didn't) and he was very angry about the whale maiming Bo Derek. We all loved Bo back in the day. Too bad no one ever said, "Hear me out. . . Death Wish meets Free Willy", because Free Willy hadn't been made yet. They try so very hard to make Richard Harris' character an idiot. He's doesn't even know the definition of "monogamous". And yet college professor Charlotte Rambling still falls for him. Two years after Jaws, I'm sure they would greenlight any killer fish (yes, I know it's a mammal), pitched. And I think this made some money. It was still a mistake.

This movie is hilariously bad, I wish we could watch the Joe Bob Briggs MonsterVision footage from when he showed this movie on TNT, skip the flick and see that instead.

Such an underated movie. Calling it a Jaws-Ripoff doesn’t do it justice. It also has a great soundrack composed by Ennio Morricone.

Best orca movie, shed a little light on how smart these animals actually are.
