A stalker torments an opera star by forcing her to watch her friends being murdered in one of giallo horror god Dario Argento’s most terrifying films. When young operetta Betty is thrust into a leading role in Verdi’s Macbeth, she’s unprepared for the carnage that’s going to be unleashed. Soon enough she’s being stalked by a black-gloved killer who loves tieing Betty up and taping needles around her eyes so she - and by extension us - are forced to watch the vicious slayings. The great Brian Eno and Goblin’s Claudio Simonetti composed the stellar score.

One of Argento's best and finest films! By far one of (if not the most) suspenseful and jarring and stress inducing (in all the greatest ways possible) yet also so beautiful and lulling between the visuals and every frame being a beautiful visual masterpiece and the amazing score!
Quite possibly his best just a chaotic ride
Giallo taken up to 11 by Argento, with characteristic colourful visuals and gore, 80s hair, a character who looks distractingly like Christopher Lambert in Highlander, a thoroughly absurd plot, and some kicking prog rock tunes. Let down a bit for me by the combination of wooden dialogue and characters who seem remarkably blasé about all this torturous murder, which felt less dreamlike/surreal and more Dull Surprise.
