If the first one lost the plot in the end, this one never found it at all. "It's the same as the first time! Actually the rules are slightly different! Actually it's a different thing entirely! Actually-" you get the gist. Utterly confused about what it even wanted the truth to be or how it wanted the spooks to work. This movie keeps you guessing by not knowing where it's going in the first place.
It was okay.
A good storyline, although the end seemed pretty rushed, more of a thriller than a horror. .
I wanted to like it, I thought the first one was pretty solid. But somewhere in the middle they started dumping in a side quest that just muddled the whole thing up and ort stopped trying to keep track of it all. Maybe I need a second viewing, I was just confused by the end. I dunno, see what you think.
What did I just watch? Somewhere along the lines, we ended up in Taiwan and then we came back to Japan and suddenly the main antagonist from movie 1 is back. Storyline was kind of all over the place, but the scares were decent enough so I guess there's that.
