Nightbreed: The Director's Cut

Directed by Clive Barker

A wrongly-accused man seeks refuge in an underground kingdom of grotesque monsters in Clive Barker's freaky and frightening fan favorite. Young Aaron is tormented by visions of monstrous, graveyard-dwelling creatures. But his creepy therapist (director David Cronenberg) offers little solace. When he's framed for serial slayings in the area, he heads for Midian, a place where undead monsters known as the "Nightbreed" live. Barker's follow-up to HELLRAISER developed a cult following on video, and its recent restoration proves its importance in horror cinema.

A wanted man seeks refuge in an underground kingdom of grotesque monsters.

Cast: Craig Sheffer, Anne Bobby, David Cronenberg

I really want to see Rob Zombie do a reboot I think this would be more his wheel house than Halloween

Clive Barker tells the story of a world underneath ours where ghouls hide from humans and the sun in order to survive. This film could be an analogy for the oppression those in the LGBTQ+ community or those who practice a different faith than Christianity in the US. Whatever the reason, this film is relatable and shows that the true monsters aren't the ones hiding in the shadows but rather the ones who never seem to stay in the shadows.

One of my all time favorite films, though this is the first time seeing the Director’s Cut. It’s just as phenomenal as the theatrical version. Still remains a favorite. I loved the extended scenes and the differences towards the end.
