Night of the Living Dead
Directed by Tom Savini
In 1990, George Romero persuaded his friend and frequent collaborator, FX legend Tom Savini, to step into the director’s chair for this gory remake of 1968’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Romero wrote the script, keeping the original’s plot of a group of people trapped during a zombie outbreak, but updating other details. Patricia Tallman’s (“Babylon 5”) badass Barbara is nothing like Judith O’Dea’s hysterical original, while future CANDYMAN Tony Todd is brilliant as the heroic but frustrated Ben. But it’s Savini’s superb gore work that makes this one a must-watch.
FX legend Tom Savini directed this gory remake of the mother of all zombie flicks.
Cast: Tony Todd, Patricia Tallman, William Butler, Tom Towles

Not totally worthless, but it has nothing new to say about the original story, and that's the only reason to remake a movie.
Patricia
Great remake and does Barbara right.
Not bad, actually. Not perfect, but not bad. I liked the way that, given the opportunity to revisit his most famous creation, George made some interesting changes in the plot and the characters. Between him and the actors, none of these iconic characters were quite the same as I remembered them, and it was interesting to see the result.
Great remake!
