Three young women are tormented by an insane matriarch and her depraved sons in this cult-horror favorite by Charles Kaufman, brother of Troma Entertainment's Lloyd Kaufman who also distributed the film. When three beautiful young women set out for a relaxing weekend retreat in the woods, they unwittingly stumble upon a sadistic band of backwoods yokels. Taken prisoner by the effed-up family, the women are forced to fight back using anything they can get their hands on to overpower the sons and hopefully survive the holiday from hell. Contains strong language, sexual scenes, violence and gore.

Loved this movie! Fun story and you can't guess what will happen next.
Might have been 3/5 but for the budget, since I think a lot was done with a little. The story is pretty basic, sure, but it shines in the in-between, where we get an idea of what set these characters in motion and where they're likely (or were likely) to go from here. Actually not bad acting, either, and a lot of very convincing close-ups, where the director goes for less is more (odd deaths instead of bloody) and - in that way - a good blend of what happens on and off screen.

I liked the friendship between the “rat pack” (those scenes were surprisingly well written) but the rest of the movie is kind of a slog. It’s not scary and there’s no tension. The last 20 minutes are intriguing but other than that I don’t think it’s worth watching.
