I was hoping it would be sillier
Classic B movie and I mean that in the best way possible.
Tom Atkins and Bruce Campbell…yes please!
It's a good slasher, with a good concept, about a cop killer maniac, who coldly kills various people, while he is supposed to make order reign. A kind of reflection of our society, especially in the USA, with these many civilians killed by accident by police officers, breaking the trust in the police. On the other hand, the film suffers from a too quick assumption at the beginning that it is possibly a police officer who killed the first victim, then I found the ending average.
Beneath the 80s synth score and low budget effects is a cop movie that touches on corruption and mental health that just happens to have an undead (?) cop. Those things get lost in the second half as it focuses more on combatting the pseudo Myers/Terminator of its antagonist.
