Anthony Hopkins plays a ventriloquist whose dummy has a murderous mind of its own in this chilling psychological horror film written by legendary Hollywood scribe William Goldman (MISERY, MARATHON MAN) and directed by future Oscar-winner Richard Attenborough (GANDHI). Famous for its trailer ("Magic is fun. When you're dead!") which supposedly was removed from TV for being too scary, MAGIC still holds up as a terrifying trip to the Twilight Zone. Fans of Hopkins' iconic turn as Hannibal Lecter in THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS should be sure to experience MAGIC.

Its more of a psychological thriller than a horror movie. It is light on the gore and it's pretty much full of cringey moments involving mental illness. It's not really my kind of movie as i prefer fast pace slashers but it is still a good watch with plenty of iconic actors.

This movie was horrible. Anthony Hopkins is the only reason to even check this one out. Horrible acting all around. A story that will help you sleep. It’s a yawn fest. -2 skulls is what I want to rate this.
Plot jumps around a bit at the beginning, the sound and video quality are a bit poor (even for a 70s movie I feel like), and the movie is a bit longer than it needs to be. However, the concept is intriguing, the acting is well done, and despite my nit-picks I feel it's a movie worth giving a try.
