Beyond boring!
Starts off as a folk horror premise with some intrigue and promise, then clumsily shifts gears into a styleless and camp-less giallo. Feels somewhat like a strained and ill-fated collaboration between Jodorowski and late-career Hitchcock. Dramatic action is intelligible scene by scene, but overall lacks coherence or tension. A tiny dose of world-building is introduced about four-fifths of the way in. I enjoy arthouse and retro horror, but this can easily be skipped. Also, aquatic lightsabers.
Couldn’t make it through the first two scenes… hard pass.
I love it!
