Directed by Alexandre O. Philippe

A lyrical and spiritual cinematic essay on The Exorcist, Leap of Faith explores the uncharted depths of William Friedkin’s mind’s eye, the nuances of his filmmaking process, and the mysteries of faith and fate that have shaped his life and filmography as told by the man himself. The film marks the sixth feature documentary from Alexandre O. Philippe (78/52, Memory: The Origins of Alien), continuing his thoughtful analysis of iconic genre films. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL.

Excellent singularly focused documentary about the creation of one of the greatest horror films of all time straight from the mouth of the iconic director himself. This film should be a required viewing for aspiring directors in film school as Friedkin guides the viewer through his process from preproduction through completion. Despite it’s simplicity of one interview from one point-of-view, it works phenomenally well, and William Friedkin solidifies the reason why he was one America’s most influential directors

Superb. For any fan of movies, horror, cinematography, lighting, casting, how every decision was conceived and executed down to the finest detail. A fascinating journey with Friedkin taking us along, he’s a very engaging storyteller. Each anecdote is littered with nuggets of information. The more you watch the more you are spellbound by his stories of each decision in his film making process. Fascinating. Top watch.
