It was pretty good and has some great moments but I wish it expanded on the aliens and some of the characters felt a bit over the top but overall it is a fun watch
The title and opening sequence promise something that is perhaps going to a Goonies-style throwback, but the fact that it's on Shudder, you expect it'll be a bit darker. It's neither of those things. And it never lives up to the title. The plot is even more threadbare than you can expect from the title, the characters barely have arcs, and worst of all it's just mean-spirited. This was awful and disappointing.
A low budget but well spent. Story gets to the point without unnecessary subplots. Special effects and photography that respectfully pay homage to the style of classic 80's feature films. Characters are immediately understandable and recognizable. The pace of the script is perfect and never become ridiculous since knows perfectly their target audience and the platform to which this production is directed. It is worthwhile and sure you will spend a fun time.
This movie is cheesy, bad and insulting with the original story coming from the movie "V/H/S 2". I was ready to forgive this movie for being a WTF series, with aliens, unlike the original material which was scary, but the story, the characters and the atmosphere are catastrophic and I don't even know if there will be a sequel and I hope not.
I didn't have huge expectations. I enjoy the VHS movies and this movie was filmed 15 minutes from my home in Nova Scotia is what peaked my internet. It was much better than I thought it would be but for such a short movie it still feels a bit too long. It's more interesting before the aliens show up as well. Still for a very low budget film there's a lot of effort here. Not particularly scary but a lot of fun. 3/5
