Kandisha
Directed by Julien Maury, Alexandre Bustillo
It is summer break and best friends Amélie, Bintou and Morjana hang together with the neighborhood teenagers. At night, they have fun sharing goosebumps stories and urban legends. But when Amélie is assaulted by her ex, she remembers the story of Kandisha, a powerful and vengeful demon. Afraid and upset, she summons her. The next day, her ex is found dead. The legend is true and now Kandisha is on a killing spree. The three girls will do anything to break the curse. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL.
Three childhood friends invoke the spirit of Kandisha, a vengeful creature from a Moroccan legend. The game turns into a nightmare when their loved ones tragically disappear. The young girls will then do all they can to try to counter this evil creature.
Cast: Mériem Sarolie, Mathilde La Musse, Suzy Bemba, Samarcande Saadi

Fun and solid horror film, definitely some trigger warnings (I would recommend looking them up before watching) but terrific character work and story building.
I always say that the French are the unsung heroes of horror and, where this movie had its flaws, it was still great and entertaining and I stand by that statement. I really liked it. The gore was awesome, it was well shot, and the acting was amazing. It was also cool seeing a movie where men were the victims and the women actually cared about them, loved them and tried to save them. If this was made by Hollywood, I can't help but feel they would've turned it into some kind of "all man bad" bs where the girls didn't care at all, so it was nice and refreshing in that respect. Again, French cinema is badass.
Wonderful <3
I personally loved this movie. Lots of gore,I could see myself rewatching this movie though. **SPOILERS** I feel the need to give a heads up about some stuff you’ll see. It could be triggering. There’s the SA scene and there’s a scene where a rabbit is used for a sacrifice (they cut the rabbit’s throat)
Hard to believe this film is from the same chaps who gave us Inside,Livid & Among the Living,3 films i rate highly & very much enjoyed(especially Inside for the presence of the terrifying, beguilling Beatrice Dalle). Easier to believe it's from the chaps who gave us the Deep House(which was mainly awful due to the presence of Mick Jaggers son,who nobody seems to have the gumption to tell he CANNOT act). Knowing this made the experience more disappointing somehow, had i not known I would have said that was a m
