One of my favorite films of all time. Features an actually honest and non-demonized portrayal of ASPD, and is the only media I've ever seen that's done that. Fascinating character arc, with John trying to wrestle with his own issues and his lack of connection to others, while still trying to do the right thing in catching the serial killer at large. It had what I'd initially thought was an odd sci-fi twist, but I think it's representing the alien's desire to feel human despite being something fundamentally other, which mirrors John's struggles with ASPD very closely. It's a great movie, and I highly recommend it.

I was very glad that i had never heard of this movie, and therefore had no preconceived notions or expectations. . . That allowed me to enjoy everything about this movie for what it was; the acting, the script, the plot, the build, and ultimately the payoff were all worth it. . . Not the greatest movie of all time, but an excellent movie that's definitely worth repeat viewing, and recommending. . .

Exceptional film adaptation of Dan Wells’s novel! Max Records kills it as John Cleaver and Christopher Lloyd is perfect as Mr. Crowley! The filmmakers kept the black humor that made the book stand out, and shooting on 16mm film gives it this gritty, grindhouse feel you don’t find in modern films anymore. A sure treat!
