Six friends get together during lockdown for their weekly zoom call. It's Haley’s turn to organise an activity and instead of a quiz, she’s arranged for a Medium to conduct a séance. Bored and feeling mischievous, Jemma decides to have some fun and invents a story about a boy in her school who hanged himself. However, her prank gives license for a demonic presence to cross over, taking on the guise of the boy in Jemma’s made-up story. The friends begin noticing strange occurrences in their homes as the evil presence begins to make itself known, and they soon realise that they might not survive the night. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL.

This movie feels much better than others that have done the "online video chat room gone wrong" genre before. It obviously dates itself by mentioning covid and quarantines, but doesn't focus on it much. The effects are well done, and the jump scares aren't too numerous. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.
Yeah. . . will be a classic I think. Good jump scares, keeps you on the edge, and a timely movie given its release in the pandemic.
This movie is SO good. One of the best found-footage movies of all time. It's surprisingly scary, and the jump scares are really well done and have a huge payoff. It may seem boring for the first 20 min, but I promise it's worth it. Just skip to the seance if you have to and watch it from there. Crazy scary.
