Easily my new favorite movie!
Incidentally… not a horror movie. Like, at all. But I loved it all the same. Usually I’m quite good at predicting plot points, but this film threw me for a loop. Not only did it quickly do away with tropes that you expect to only be addressed before the climax relatively early into the film, it didn’t rely on other ones that I expected to see pop up by the end. Sure, it still had some predictable beats but really only in the sense that it needs to have a story that progresses and concludes. It was much funnier than I expected and I found myself laughing more and more as the film went on. The irony of this film being on Shudder is that it feels like it’s been incorrectly classified as horror in the same vein as the small-minded townsfolk incorrectly assuming the main characters are all criminals because they play metal music. Give it a watch. Have a laugh.
Super fun, funny, corny, wholesome, and metallllll!!!! Xyrtrax is the best!!!
Freaking awesome. So funny! If you like metal and comedy this is for you. Nothing horror about it but I'm so happy shudder put it on.
As a musician, I loved it. For fans of Metalocalypse or Pick of Destiny.
