One of the best in the series.
The overall movie is good, but the 3D effects really pull me out of it. The introduction of hockey mask Jason gives it 4 skulls.
Jason settles into his mask and more of his "style" that he will maintain for the rest of the series. Is it better the #2? Potato-potatoe... I would not approach these films with too much of a critical eye if you want to enjoy them. Take them as they are - slashers that are meant to present us with terrifying monsters, dimwitted victims, and spectacular kills.
maybe only slightly better than part two because the last 20 mins is a little more tense, but more of the same. At least he has the ol' hockey mask now.
Great movie, jason starts morphing into a more grotesque monster. People complain that it doesn't make sense how he changes. He changes every time he dies, and he comes back bigger and stronger. How much do you really need it to make sense, though? Is it about a zombie killing machine, yet you want a solid fluidity of continuity? Try to keep in mind its a new director each time. So, they do their best in the 80s.
