This has nothing to do with the Evil Dead. For that, you would need to do Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell, which Shudder does have at the time of this review. As others have said, it doesn't make a lot of sense but it's weird enough to keep your interest. The strange thing is I kept thinking of Suspiria because of the soundtrack (and one scene where there are maggots dropping from the ceiling). But also the way some of the cinematography, montage, and imagery are done, it kind of reminded me of Tetsuo: The Iron Man. However. . . Tetsuo was released one year later. Did this film inspire parts of Tetsuo? Or is there a subgenre of industrial horror pre-Tetsuo that I don't know about? Anyway worth a watch if you like berserk Japanese movies.

Every 20 minutes the film becomes a different kind of horror film. The ending features 3 or 4 reversals and twists, each more shocking and fun than the last.

The beginning is a bit rocky and there’s a rape scene that seems to exist just to be erotic, but, other than that, this movie is a blast.

I was kinda in a trap. Not anymore. Sorry. Took me a long time to see this. Glad I watch this. For 1988 film, very good kill effects.
