Imperfect film, suffering from length and a disappointing WTF ending, making no sense, but which has good ideas at times, with its sadistic killer with these traps and the final twist which is incredible.
Despite the name of the film, I’d say this is more reminiscent of 70’s/80’s Italian horror than Evil Dead. There’s even a scene with maggots festering on a ceiling, which is almost exactly a scene in Suspiria. Quite all over the place, but I rarely got bored. Also has a reoccurring keyboard riff that brings to mind "Around The World (La La La)."
I thought it was supernatural horror. Nope, it’s a slasher. Nope, it’s a monster!
A fun and gory romp with a psychedelic feel to it.
