If this is what the afterlife is like, I don't wanna die because this was one of the most boring films I have ever watched. In fact, it is almost right up there with Begotten. In fact, if almost got that same rating had it not been for the few things that warrant it a star. If you know me, you know that I am a sucker for neon colors and this film had a lot of beautiful neon colors. I was absorbed in every scene that had them. Even if the scene itself was rather boring and uninteresting, the colors kept my attention. This, while being a positive, also ruins the movie for me because I was watching the movie and remaining with it even when it got past the point where I would just say "fuck it" and turn it off. So, take that what you will. And lastly, the storyline with the characters was interesting enough but the film almost doesn't even want to focus on that. Gaspar just wants to spend 30+ minutes at a time hovering over a city and various buildings containing folks having sex. There's like so much sex in this movie that I honestly feel like Gaspar chose the wrong film industry. He succeeds in making sex look boring and unappealing which wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't for the fact that he kept showing it as if he wanted us to watch it. I was struggling to stay awake because of how slow and fucking boring it all is. There's a few avant garde moments within the film's structure, I will admit, but it is just so long and monotonous that it drowns out all possible interest that I might have for it. However, I will admit that everytime we the audience witnessed the crash that killed Oscar and Linda's parents. . . . I was awoken in a jumpscare state. The sound design for the crash was amazing. There are some weird scenes and shots in this movie that made me feel weirded out just looking at them. One of them being the scene where Oscar fucks Victor's mom to which the scene blends into Oscar as a baby sucking on Victor's mom's breasts before turning into a scene where Oscar and Linda are in the bathtub with their actual mother back when she was still alive. Now, I guess I get what the scene was going for, trying to show that in that moment it felt like Oscar was finally reunited with a maternal figure like the one he lost so long ago. But it just feels weird to watch because in some strange way I feel like it could be taken out of context and go onto be an element of sea pea. At least I hope that isn't the case. Gaspar Noe, being the type of director he is, I just don't see him doing something like that. All in all, this is a film that would've gotten 3 skulls from me but it went down to 2½ and then eventually just 2 skulls. 1 skull for the lights and the other for what little bit of story was actually watchable on here. Everything else is god awful and not interesting in the slightest. A lot of people have this film as their favorites and I kinda understand why. I mean if you are a Noé fan then I can see this film being a favorite for you. Or if you love psychedelic journeys, this is definitely for you. But, I was just so bored and so uninterested that I can't help but type this long ass review/rant out and mention that I most likely will not watch this ever again. Respectfully, fuck off Gaspar Noé. Respectfully. So yeah.

Truly genuinely one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen, you can tell that this was definitely for a male audience and directed by a male. Terrible story line. If you wanna watch a p0rn0 with weird incest mixed in be my guest.

Had to get past all the annoying sounds such as the slow sounding main character and his annoying, soft voice for a guy, all the different sounds of the guys constantly sniffing and making out sounds. . . and talking low & slow. . . very annoying! The movie has good effects and a story, but it turns out to be more like a porn film. A lot of what they said throughout the movie can be tied back in the story. With that said, the ending is kind of sweet, but definitely living that type of lifestyle, this should be a no no.
