There is nothing of substance here. There is no underlying commentary or subversive expose. This is just nonsense for nonsense's sake. And it's terrible.

What a bizarre mashup; expressionism with its cardboard decors, sets and overacting, psychedelic with garrish colours, 60s-kitch in its use of sound and pop-art designs, even tries to nod to Giallo; sort of an attempt at a thinking man's boobie-flashing rocky horror picture show, except that the high-falutin' dialogue often ends up more vapid than evocative or cryptic, and overall the camp is overthrown by some horrible acting (if you're going to pastiche a German classic, get a German lead) -- kudos for the David Byrne lookalike Mr. Van Houten. Not funny enough to elevate past cheese - definitely no Repo! The Musical. Worth a watch only if flat titillation is your thing.

Camp at its best (sexy too).

Wacky, bizarre, includes themes of mental illness, female sexuality, malpractice, hormone therapy. It's really fun and strange and colorful but definitely could evoke strong feelings of discomfort.
