Devil's Pass

Directed by Renny Harlin

Renny Harlin (DIE HARD 2, CLIFFHANGER) brings one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the 20th century to the screen -- the controversial Dyatlov Pass Incident. In February of 1959, nine Russian hikers ventured into a remote area of the Ural Mountains in Russia. Two weeks later, all nine were found dead. Now, five ambitious American college students are issued a grant to return to the site of the original events in the belief that they can uncover and document the truth of what happened. But what they find is more shocking than anything they could have imagined. The forces behind the Dyatlov Pass Incident have been waiting for them.

5 young adventurers retrace the steps of a doomed group of hikers in pursuit of a legendary paranormal mystery.

Cast: Gemma Atkinson, Holly Goss, Luke Albright

Pretty good, actually! Found footage is, far and away, my LEAST FAVORITE horror subgenre, because I feel that more than any other, it's the one that cynical, lazy, uncreative producers try to milk because they remember the runaway success of "Blair Witch Project" and think they can recapture that lightning in a bottle and make a fuckton of money even if they don't have any interesting ideas. But this one has good acting, good writing, good characters and good direction (I always did like Renny Harlin!).

Good movie. Interesting plot, decent found footage, and a fun ending. It builds, so you might find the beginning a little boring. Not sure why its listed as Russian. This is very much an English/American movie. Whole thing is in English. Also, check out the troll below review bombing this "Russian" movie XD Its an English movie, I promise lol. Look at the cast.

Still fun to watch this movie 12 years later. Big fan of FF stuff and this one was always a top 5 for me growing up. The ending is still a cool idea for me, even if the cgi feels rough so many years later, and I am a sucker for fun ties to real life stories.
