Blood Relatives

Directed by Noah Segan

Francis, a 115-year-old Yiddish vampire, still looks 35. He’s been roaming American backroads in his beat-up muscle car for decades, keeping to himself, and liking it that way. One day, Jane, a teenager, shows up. She says she’s his daughter, and she’s got the fangs to prove it. They go on the road, deciding whether to sink their teeth into family life. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL

A vampire finds out he has a teenage daughter. They go on the road, deciding whether to sink their teeth into family life.

This was the worst movie I have ever seen. Whether in theaters or on a streaming service. No plot, no leading characters with any depth or redeeming qualities. The political tone was very obvious, coming just short of "we hate people who live in Middle America". Not worth the time it took to wait for any semblance of a plot.

I feel someone had a great idea for a pilot episode for a new vampire series and just decided to make a movie instead

Not sure what I was expecting when I started the movie but I was pleasantly surprised.

Was not expecting to see Josh, so that was a nice surprise. He's such a great weirdo. I'm giving this 4/5 skulls because I was missing Noah Segan with vampire teeth and a bit more edge. But what a great leading actress!

Kind of like a feel-good, coming-of-age, almost comedy movie. It was okay. I felt like it either needed to punch up the horror or humor aspect or both. The acting was good, but the plot dragged on, especially toward the end.
