Definitely not horror but more of a thriller . . kinda . I agree with most of the other reviews. Kept my attention, creepy storyline . The ending I thought wasn't so much a huge surprise but the only ending it could have gotten too . . Stars instead of a because I felt the movie lacks more emotions I felt should have been displayed . either way I would recommend
This is, in a way, yes, a modern retelling of Dr. Frankenstein but it is more eerie than anything. It is NOT a horror movie. If anything, it should be taglined “Medical professionals overstepping ethical boundaries for an emotionally entangled scientific experiment. ” So if you want horror, even the non-gory type of horror, you’re wasting your time. If you want the tagline above, you’re in the right place.
Birth/Rebirth is a slow burn modern retelling of Frankenstein the explores the legnths a mother will go to save her child. It was nice change of pace from jump scare films.
I enjoyed this movie. It shows how people will test or even overstep the boundaries of what is considered ethical, whether that is for scientific discovery or for the sake of a loved one. I like the contrast between the two main characters and the development of their relationship throughout the movie. I enjoyed how the characters are portrayed as seemingly different in the beginning but showing their similarities as the story progresses. Definitely worth the watch if you enjoy movies that make you think.
Love the cast. I would have liked a more profound ending but it’s a good movie. 8/10!
