This was the first full length film of Alice's I'd ever seen and it's so exciting to see how far she's come already just from here. She's an incredible talent, and the genre is lucky to have her.
After watching Carnage for Christmas and hearing the Q&A, I realised I already knew Alice Maio Mackey's work from Bad Girl Boogey. Initially I felt rather critical of this film; and while those faults still remain, I did enjoy this more on a secondary watch. Not sure if returning to this immediately after watching So Vam meant her style felt more familiar, but it's quite a solid low-budget horror. The familiar town killer concept rarely feels particularly original, although the strong character interactions help alter typical dynamics to maintain interest; the conclusion falls a tad with lost momentum, yet it's not weak and worth supporting Australian horror by giving this a watch.
This movie indeed ….is a horror for poofs
There needs to be a filter for reviews. Why is the top review a 1 star homophobic slur?
again...horror for poofs.
