Don't know what movie the others watched but I thought it was AMAZING
Was a cool sci-fi murder mystery, with a unique payoff. Have to forgive the film for it’s CGI flaws, but appreciate the story being told.
A pretty good collection of scifi horror tropes hung on a sparse plot with a too-small cast. If you adore scifi horror like me, the visuals will push some buttons - hard. But the plot is predictable and the film suffers from that "it's just two actors on a soundstage" quality so many recent genre ventures have fallen into. Eiza Gonzalez gives decent protagonist, and Aaron Paul is effective enough, but it grossly underuses the rest of the cast. Give Iko Uwais more to do, you cowards. While I won't revisit this one again, Flying Lotus is an interesting director with audacious style. I'm glad he's making movies and I look forward to whatever he does next.
It was way too slow for my taste.
A solid watch, competently done, but treads some well-traveled ground. Ultimately, not quite enough is new here for it to stand out from its influences (most of which you will recognize within the first 10 minutes).
