Directed by Ben Brewer

In a near future, normal life on Earth has been decimated. Paul and his two sons, Thomas and Joseph, have been living a half-life – tranquility by day and torment by night. Every night, after the sun sets, they face the unrelenting attacks of a mysterious and violent evil. One day, when Thomas doesn't return home before sundown, Paul must leave the safety of their fortified farm to find him. A nightmarish battle ensues that forces the family to execute a desperate plan to survive.

Nicolas Cage stars in a near future nightmare, where a man and his two sons must fight mysterious terrors after the sun sets.

First of all, the monsters. Those have got to be the stupidest looking monsters I've ever seen. Duck-billed, rubbery, and somehow both over-designed and underwhelming, like someone mashed up a platypus, a xenomorph, and a sock puppet and called it a day. Secondly, I've never seen a farmhouse with the first floor on plain dirt. Farmhouses have foundations that are made of four to eight feet of concrete and reinforced with rebar. They also have basements, which would make the fact that they dug through the first floor really stupid, because even if they were able to chew or dig through 8 feet of concrete and rebar, they'd end up in the basement, in which case, they could just use the stairs to get into the living area of the house. Unless you're living in a cabin in the woods, or a hut, there's no way a house without a foundation is going to keep standing for any period of time, especially a house with two floors. And what, we're expected to believe that the monsters figured out, after FIFTEEN years since the viral apocalypse, that they can get in by digging underneath? Nope. Sorry. The story had potential, but they royally screwed the pooch with this one. Suspension of disbelief only works when it's based on some sort of truth or fact. Not this time. At least, not for me. And the father, he was a dad who would do anything to protect his kids, apparently even die, but doesn't that kinda defeat the whole "do anything to protect his kids" thing? Now, they're more vulnerable than ever if he let himself die. He could've easily shut that door and gone with his boys to wherever. Anyway, I'm ranting now. That's it. I'm done.

This movie sucked. The creatures made no sense and neither did the story line. cage is done. Stop making movies

Genuinely really good. I think my hair rose every time the monsters moved the way they did towards the end, it was so good and hit me in the freaky don't like nerves. Good watch, I love the monster design.
