Probably one of the best occult movies I've seen! The ritual depicted is based on one that Crowley invented. The end gets very FX heavy, but honestly, I liked it!
Criminally underrated. Fantastic movie. If you think it's depressing and dreary, well, you weren't really paying attention, were you?
Halfway decent story & build up albeit a very slow burn but the constant sense of hopelessness with no payoff in the end ruined it but scary last 5-10 minutes so there’s that lol
3 skulls for atmosphere and it's depressing but not really interesting until the last act.
Too easy to accidentally post your review prematurely with an iPhone on this app. Anyway, 2nd try: this is a gorgeous, thought provoking, dark masterpiece. It’s a must watch on Shudder. This is a movie for grown ups. Keep that in mind.
